The first weekend in February, we spent the weekend with the Henrys in Dallas. During the winter months, the Dallas Zoo has $5 admission... a great deal that we couldn't pass up. We all love the zoo, so we thought it would be a perfect outing. And it was! If you haven't been to the Dallas Zoo in a few years, I highly suggest it! They have created a completely new Africa area. It was filled with interactive exhibits, knowledgeable zoologists, and up-close encounters with animals!
Beautiful friends
We thought we would feed the giraffes. Who wouldn't like to feed the giraffes?
Wade wouldn't like to feed the giraffes!
Kinda reminds me of our experience with Santa!
Look of the absolute fear and terror in his eyes... whoops! We quickly gave the rest of the lettuce we purchased to other children around the exhibit.
Doing much better with the giraffes at a distance!
The kids barnyard area was Wade's favorite - of course!
Strangely enough, one of the camels came to the fence as we walked by. Wade seemed just fine with the camels (They look like giraffes to me... hmmm, wonder why Wade had a change of heart when it comes to large animals?!?)
We had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting the zoo again soon!

Oh no, he's already dropped his morning nap. I'm really dreading that. Pearson finally started taking 2 nice long naps at 10 months, so I'm really not ready to give up the morning nap. I love all the pictures at the zoo. I want to take Pearson, but I'm afraid it's about to get too hot for that!!
