The one where J surprised me

A few weeks ago, I told J that I needed some "adult time" just for the two of us.  We have been to dinner by ourselves, but nothing special or out of the ordinary.  He came home a few days later and said, "Let's get tickets to A Chorus Line."

Well, being a dancer my entire life, I loved the idea of going to see the show.  (It's hard to believe that I could sing most of the songs and had danced to half of them, but I had never seen the show.)  I'm also fortunate to have a husband who enjoys tolerates the theater and musicals!

So last night was the night.  Jennie and Chris offered to babysit Wade.  (Thanks guys!)  I noticed that the tickets said "Mature Audiences Only."  Hmmmm, I wonder why.  Well it didn't take long to figure that one out.  Let's just say that it definitely had a "mature" subject matter.  I thought it was about a dance audition... it was and MORE!

Some parts were slow.  But it was all worth it in the end to see the finale! The gold tuxedo costumes, the sequined hats, the perfect dancing... Ahhhh (cue the angel sounds)!!

It made me miss dancing (as do most Broadway shows we see).  It made me miss parts of my childhood.  It also made me grateful for where I am now... although so far away from childhood, I wouldn't change anything.  I am so blessed to have my amazing husband and child... oh yeah and the perfect dog!

Thanks J for a great evening out as "adults."  I needed it!
