Well... this is it. Today is the BIG DAY! Jason and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby boy.
We arrived at the hospital at 5:00 am this morning to register and get a room. I was monitored for awhile, signed more paperwork, and the IV was hooked up around 6:30ish. I actually have had 2 nurses that I had before when I came in for the infection and pre-term labor in mid-December. It is so nice to have familiar faces around me.
Dr. Herod came by around 8:15. Everything was checked and whoosh... you know what happened. I was told I could have an epidural whenever I was ready. I was determined to make it until 11 am. I made it until 10:30 and the epidural took affect around 11 am.
The epidural medication makes me itch... itch all over!! They have given me other medication to stop the itching. Unfortunately/ fortunately, I've been asleep pretty much ever since then. It's nice to have some additional rest. I have dozed off and on to Father of the Bride 2 and Yours, Mine, and Ours. Both of our parents have been with us, at times in here and other times in the waiting room.
Now we all just wait. We are making progress. Will post more soon.
