I wanted to get out of the house and have Wade meet some new friends. (I guess you can call them friends when they are less than a year old.) I knew I needed to do something for me. I looked high and low and weighed out all of my options for this fall. Our church has a Tuesday morning Bible study called "Moms & Mentors." Moms of all ages get together to do a specific study. It is discussion group based with each group having a wiser "mentor mom" to help lead the discussion. This fall is Women Making a Difference in Marriage by Lana Packer. Wow... what a blessing this group and study have been to me and our marriage.
Also, I have joined two different MOPS (Moms of Preschoolers) groups... a great place to connect and fellowship with moms of young children. I go to one at my church and one at another church in town. The groups are almost identical in format, but they are unique in the women they cater to. I enjoy both for different reasons. Plus it gives us some extra time away from the house.
Moral of the story between Bible study, MOPS at Green Acres, and MOPS at Marvin we have been busy bees. Not to mention, cleaning the house, laundry, grocery shopping, and managing the house adds to all the busyness.
Fall... one of my favorite times of year.
Fall means pumpkins and pumpkin flavored things. Fall means long sleeves and scarves. Fall means leaves and turkey. Fall means a change in weather - crisp cool weather... which also means sickness. Uhhhh the sickness. All 3 of us have been struggling with our allergies - icky noses, sneezing, coughing like a seal, etc. That's another reason for my lack of blog entries. I can't even count how many nights and naps Wade has slept on my chest in an effort to help him sleep soundly. We are finally all getting well!!
Speaking of fall... Fall means football! Baylor Bear Football. Jason and I went to the TCU v. Baylor game in Waco Labor Day weekend. (I just now downloaded the pictures today...oops). It was disgustingly hot (please don't judge the pictures) but an AMAZING GAME!
Fall also means the FAIR. The East Texas State Fair specifically. Yes it's gross, yes it's small, and yes it's ghetto, but we love it! WE LOVE FAIR FOOD! We were so excited to take Wade for the first time... the food, the lights, the interesting people, the animals, the free stuff... Wade loved it all!!
Yum food!
Taking it all in.

WINNER...with his awesome blow up gun
The girls thought thye would take a turn... Jennie was up first.
Karen gave it a good try too... I think they might have been a little sore the next morning.
The fair was so fun that we went back another night for dinner! Wade and Daddy were getting loaded up for fair night #2.
Another fun event was that Wade turned 8 months old on Sept. 24. Here are a few pictures of our cutie pie!

When I get excited, I clench my fists and shake a little bit!!

Well, that gets us through September. Up next, I will do an October update as well as a milestone post. Sorry for the lengthiness. I will be better about blogging... I hope!
